Not that I was skateboarding as much as I went to help the hubs shoot interviews with Wally Inouye, Chris Strople, Jeff Ament and Jeff Greenwood. Ben asked the questions, I monitored the audio and kept an eye on the camera. This worked for me since I don't know jack about skateboarding but staring at a bounce meter and making sure the camera was still recording is well within my reach.
Like I mentioned, I knew nothing, just that Ben was excited and nervous about interviewing these guys. So, I went along to help.
All I do know is these guys are genuinely nice. I wish I could bottle Wally's laughter and use it to cheer up folks. And I also wish I had a fraction of the skills these dudes had on the skateboard. I'm still at kick-push-kick-push-turn-crash.
When we weren't shooting interviews, Ben shot video of them skateboarding along with his bud Ben Niles. We went to Marginal Way, Delridge and Jefferson. I've gotten a look at the footage and I think Ben's documentary just got taken up a notch.
Another of Ben's buddies, Greg, took photos that are way better than my crap phone pics. That's Greg standing on the railing in the below pic.
